"The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman" by L.Sterne

Literarure has always been a very big interest in my life since the first time I began reading.  The possibility of loosing oneself in a world of fantasy far from ordinary existence,  place and life,  has always been of the greatest interest for me.  As studies went on,  I became more conscious of literary production,  and I began to love poetry,  from classical Poems to modern ones.

My favourite authors,  in prose and verse,  (I' m Italian,  so my best known language and culture is Italian ) are :  Leopardi,  Dante,  Virgilio,  Tasso and Manzoni as Classical Italian Writers;  W.  Shakespeare,  L.  Sterne and Ch.  Dickens as British ones,  but I like many contemporaries artists too.  Among the authors I like best are :  G.  Garcia Marquez,  A.  Sastre,  D.  Pennac,  Ph.  K.  Dick (according to me the best writer of SF),  C.  Simak,  E.  Hemingway,  R.M.  Pirsig,  I.  Calvino,  E.M.  Forster,  D.H.  Lawrence,  and so on (just to quote someone,  but the complete list would be of several pages).  Also in the contemporary poetry I have some preferred authors and they are:  Attilio Bertolucci,  Mario Luzi,  Giovanni Giudici,  Giorgio Caproni,  as Italians;  Derek Walcott and Seamus Heaney as english-writing ones.

There is also another thing,  (almost Literary),  I love very much and is the collection of little,  old books possibly with the pages made in India-Paper.
